This west-side route heads out Goose Creek Road and crosses Viney Grove at the base of Weaver Hill. Instead of turning onto Viney Grove, the route stays straight onto Kinion Lake/Mateer Road, which is known locally as “Belgian Road.” This stretch, while named for its rough surface and pot holes, was recently repaved and is silky smooth (for now).
Turn south onto Wedington Blacktop and now you’re on the backside of the NWA Spring Classic loop, but you’re riding the course in reverse. Take Stonewall and Bush to cut through the scenic Prairie Grove Battlefield State Park, and then it’s back northeast to Farmington.
This particular route has a fairly unconventional return to downtown Fayetteville by way of Shiloh Drive, a very brief jaunt on MLK and then the chill of Tsa La Gi Trail.
